The number of illegal migrants, willing to get to the EU via Ukraine, has increased several times over the past few weeks, UNN reports citing the speaker of the State Border Service of Ukraine Oleh Slobodian as saying at a briefing.

“In general, over the past few weeks, the State Border Service has registered an increase in the number of migrants trying to get to the EU countries,” said Oleh Slobodian.

According to him, this can be explained by the fact that organizers of illegal refugee traffic channels are trying to get rid of illegal migrants on the eve of winter.

“A total of 1,286 illegal migrants, including 106 children, have been detained since June 15, 2015, when Border-2015 operation was launched,” the speaker said.
