A boat might have been detained by the FSB (Federal Security Service of Russia) on the administrative border of the temporarily occupied Crimea, reports the official website of the Ukraine’s State Border Service citing a fisherman, who was also catching fish on the lake of Siwash.
According to the coupon issued by the Azovryboohrany Genichesk territorial department, the boat moved from the village of Strelkovoe, Genichesk district, Kherson region. The crew was instructed by owners of the boats and fishing teams who received permission to catch fish in the Sivash.
We also know that one of the missing fishermen called his wife asking her to give the originals of the passport through the Chongar checkpoint to Russian border guards for administrative documents to be drawn up.
The Berdyansk border detachment chief has launched an internal investigation into possible detention of 3 Ukrainian citizens by the officers of the Russian Federal Border Guard Service.
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry and law enforcement authorities have also been informed on the case.
