SIIRT (QHA) -

November 17, it became known about the collapse of copper mine in the Turkish southeastern province of Siirt, AA reports.

The collapse occurred at 20:30 local time. As of now, it was reported about three killed miners whose bodies were removed from the rubble.


At least 13 people are still under the rubble. Office for prevention and liquidation of emergency situations consequences at the Turkish Government continues the rescue operation.

Information on the progress of the rescue operation is reported directly to the Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yildirim. In connection with the incident the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources have convened an emergency meeting.
