The terrorists from the occupied territories shelled the road connecting Popasnaya and Pervomaysk, Donetsk region.
August 9, Ukrainian watchdog group of the Joined Centre for Coordination and Control (JCCC) recorded 82-mm mortar shells explosions.
Reportedly, the bumpers and asphalt surface of the road were damaged as a result of shelling.
It was a road of regional importance for traffic and the only one in the area with better coverage, informed the ATO press-center, referring to Lieutenant Colonel Vadim Bakay, the press-officer of the Ukrainian JCCC.
According to the provided information, the militants were firing from the village of Kalinovoye in the direction of Popasnaya.
“However, it remains unclear what task they were performing: Probably, they intended to damage the Popasnaya pasture and the mines did not reach the object due to poor calculation, or they targeted the road to ruin an important local infrastructure,” reads the press-center report.
The Ukrainian JCCC servicemen and the OSCE representatives have documented the use of weapons prohibited by Minsk agreements and breach of peace on the part of the militants.
