Simferopol (QHA) - Crimean police started criminal proceedings against Russian actor Alexey Panin on the fact of inciting national hostility and hatred. This was reported by public relations specialist of the Crimean unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Olga Boguslavskaya, informs "Today" newspaper, according to “Ukrainskaya Pravda”. “First-vice head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov appealed to the Prosecutor's Office of Crimea, asking Russian actor Alexey Panin to be prosecuted for inciting ethnic hatred and hostility” - she explained. “The case was already addressed to Alushta police department. It was put into the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations,” added Boguslavskaya. Note: On August 21 famous Russian actor Alexey Panin got into a car accident in Alushta (Crimea). After the actor insulted and hit the driver of another car Elvis Seydaliyev (who turned out to be a Crimean Tatar), Crimean police initiated a criminal case against him. Afterwards, Panin, when commenting the accident, repeatedly insulted Crimean Tatar people as well as stated that Crimea didn’t belong to Ukraine. As reported, later on Panin publicly apologized before Crimean Tatars. Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people didn’t accept the apologies and demanded to arrest the actor. Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine called on the law enforcement bodies to intervene in a scandalous situation. Previously, Panin’s case was classified as disorderly conduct by Crimean police.
