In Syria, the leader of the terrorist group "Islamic State" Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi was allegedly arrested, according to the reports on the website of the Department of European Security and Information (DESI).

Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was detained jointly by the Syrian and Russian military when he tried to flee the Iraqi city of Mosul to Syria.

Details are being specified.

Earlier, in March, the leader of the ISIS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi recognized defeat in the fighting in Iraq and addressed his supporters with a farewell speech urging his adherents to hide in the mountain regions of Syria and Iraq, and undermine themselves in case of entrapping.
