ANKARA (QHA) -

According to the latest reports, the law enforcement bodies of the Republic of Turkey have already detained about 754 soldiers involved in the attempted coup in the country. They were all stripped of their titles. A 'clean-up operation' has been carried out among the highest military ranks: 5 generals and 29 colonels were removed from post.

At the same time, Hulusi Akar - the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey taken hostage in the night - was rescued and taken to a safe place in the course of military air operations at the Akinci air basis.

Due to the failed attempt of coup, the rebels have begun leaving the Akinci airfield (fourth air base). Law enforcement agencies have warned that the insurgents will try to blend in with the crowd.

In his last statement, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım told the press that one general, a participant of the military coup attempt, was eliminated. He also asks the Turkish citizens not to leave the streets and squares until the normalization of the situation.

On Friday July 15, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yildirim reported a military coup attempt.

Shortly thereafter, the Turkish state TV stopped broadcasting.

According to Reuters, the Turkish army claimed responsibility for the events and declared the seizure of power in the country.
