The fire, which started in the Krasnoyarsk nuclear sub’s bow section, has been localized, reports TASS citing an unnamed source. According to the source, the sub, stripped of its reactor and armament long ago, has been decommissioned since early 2000s.

The Russian Defense Ministry officially confirmed that the Krasnoyarsk nuclear submarine, built in 1983, was to be disposed of after being decommissioned in 1998.
