The Security Service of Ukraine in Kiev detained five foreigners who appeared to be supporters of the terrorist organization "Islamic State."
Citizens of the former Soviet republics arrived in Ukraine as they had been promised to be sent false documents from abroad. In the future they planned to go to a conflict zone in Syria.
The Security Service of Ukraine jointly with the Migration Service quickly traced the whereabouts of the criminals and detained them in an apartment they rented in the city of Kyiv. According to the SBU materials, the foreigners will be extradited back to their countries of origin.
Over the past year, the Ukraine’s Security Service has expelled twenty-five potential members of a terrorist organization. Six members of the "Islamic state," who were on the international wanted list, were detained pending extradition, reported the SBU press center.
