Mariya Stolyarova, creative producer of the Podrobnosti Nedeli weekly news digest, lost her job after using strong language during a live broadcast on February 21, Podrobnosti reports.
It says in her termination papers that Mariya Stolyarova quit on mutual consent of the parties, having been paid her salary in full and a compensation for 17 unused vacation days.
According to Mariya, she was talking with the studio personnel and accidentally pressed the On Air button.
“Yes, there was a blunder made during a live broadcast. I owe up to the blunder, but it had nothing to do with what was really happening during the live broadcast from Maidan! We were shooting at 4 different locations and I was really nervous. TV people know what it’s like,” she said.
Following the incident, Stolyarova offered her apologies, saying she did not mean to offend the families of the Heavenly Hundred. In their turn, senior management of the National Information Systens LLC apologized for Stolyarova.
