At least 14 people were killed and about 30 were injured in the shootout, staged by the unknown at a crowded market of Assam in north-east India according to India Today.
“The unknown assailants opened fire with automatic weapons at a crowded market near the Indian city of Kokradzhhar, reads the report.
According to the Law Enforcement Officers, one of the attackers was killed.
"There were definitely three to four attackers. One of them has been neutralised," told the police.
The locals informed that five to seven gunmen, in a stolen tempo AS-16C / 6340, opened indiscriminate firing at a weekly market at Balajan Tinali area. The terrorists also lobbed a grenade, damaging several shops in the area.
At the moment, the neutralization of the remaining attackers is continuing.
