On June 30, a large telecommunication incident has caused disruption to mobile communications and to Internet access for residents and guests of the occupied Crimea, the Russian state news agency TASS reported, citing the "government of the region."

“Due to the damage of the fiber-optic communication line on the Temryuk-Kerch section on June 30, 2017, the access to the Internet for subscribers in "Win mobile" and "Mobile Wave" roaming is limited, the access speed to the network is reduced ... for subscribers of the majority of Internet providers, as well as the long-distance telephone connections of subscribers of fixed-line telephony operators are limited”, the report informs.

The exact number of residents of the region who have lost access to mobile services and Internet is not reported. Emergency teams of telecom operators promise to eliminate the damage in the shortest possible time.

Reportedly, the work of mobile network operators in the occupied Crimea is still provided by communication stations that were installed by Ukraine.
