Mykolaiv Municipal Court put under restraint four people, who were engaged in illegal passenger transportation to the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions across Russia, according to Center for Investigative Journalism.
For almost 5 months the arrested have transported passengers by bus from the occupied Luhansk to Odesa and in the opposite direction. However, to avoid crossing the demarcation line, the transportations were carried out through the territory of the Russian Federation. At the checkpoint "Goptovka" in the Kharkiv region, citizens traveled to Russia legally, and after got to the occupied Crimean territory through the checkpoint "Izvarino" which is not controlled by Ukraine and, in accordance with the law, is temporarily closed, thus the border crossing is forbidden there.
Illegal carriers are suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 Art. 332 Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal convey of persons across the state border of Ukraine by a group of persons by prior conspiracy with mercenary motives).
The organizer and the two drivers were arrested with allowed bail of UAN 550, 350 and 50 thousand, another suspect faces a house arrest, the Mykolaiv region Prosecutor's Office added.
