KYIV (QHA) -

The officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) jointly with border guards discovered the smuggling conduit through which lubricants were transported from Russia to Velikotsk village, at a distance of 5 kilometers from the border.

The smuggled fuel was accumulated at a farm deport located in Velikotsk village, where pumps and two tanks of 20 cubic meters with fuel residues were revealed.

“The pipeline with remains of fuel stretched underground (about 5,000 meters) from the Russian Federation to the abandoned farm in Velikotsk village. Works are now underway to dismantle and demolish the pipeline. The investigation is ongoing,” press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine reports.

The pipeline was discovered due to prompt actions and investigation of law enforcement officers after Kamaz truck carrying fuel and lubricants was arrested in Luhansk region. The investigation into that case led to revealing the illegal pipeline.
