Hayser Jemilev’s custody extended for another two months

The Court extended custody for Hayser Jemilev, son of former head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev for another two months since his previous term expired, informs

“The next hearing will take place on January 23,”- told Hayser’s lawyer Alexander Lesovoy. “Most likely, it will be very short. Probably, the prosecutor will announce changes in his charges”.

The exact date of the announcement of verdict is still unknown. It is possible, it will be announced a week after the last hearing.

As reported, on May 27, 2013, Hayser Jemilev shot a 43-year old Fevzi Edemov from a gun at his home in Bakchisaray. According to friends and family, Hayser and Fevzi were close friends. Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine- ‘deliberate murder’.
