Unknown persons who have seized madrasa (Islamic religious school) in Kolchugino village of Simferopol rayon reportedly are officers of Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). They are searching the madrassa for weapon.
Head master of local school Usniye Asanova said this to QHA correspondent.
“The center to fight extremism is searching the madrasa. After the search they will give the mobile phones back, everything will ne al right, they assured me”- she said.
There are some of 20 men with the “Berkut” stripe on their uniforms.
Note: Berkut was the system of special police of the Ukrainian militsiya within the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Following the 2014 Ukrainian revolution, when Berkut was held responsible by the new government for nearly 100 civilian deaths, the agency was dissolved.
As a result of the 2014 Crimean crisis and the referendum in Crimea the Russian Federation granted accession to the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol as federal subjects of Russia on 21 March 2014. Three days later Russia announced that the Crimean Berkut unit would preserve its name as it incorporates into the Russian Interior Ministry.
