On August 25, the Federal Security Service of Russia at the administrative border with the occupied Crimea detained the Crimean Tatar Server Devletshaev, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov reported on his Facebook page.

According to the message, on August 19 Devletshaev, along with his family - his wife and three children - came to the annexed Crimea to visit relatives. Returning to the mainland Ukraine, the family of Devletshaevs arrived at the Kalanchak checkpoint on August 25 at 07:00.

“After inspection of personal documents by the Russian border guards, the FSB officers took the head of the family, Server, away and his wife Dilyara was told that she and her children could leave the Crimea. When the woman asked how she could go without her husband, she was told that he would "stay" with them, at least until lunchtime," Chubarov wrote.

Soon parents of Devletshaev arrived at the Kalanchak checkpoint.

Refat Chubarov said that after 18 hours of illegal detention, the invaders released the Crimean Tatar.

This information was confirmed by the public organization Crimean Solidarity, which reported that on August 26 at 1:30 am the Crimean Tatar Server Devletshaev was released.

According to human rights activists, the occupiers also detained another Crimean Tatar, Islyam Karashayev, at the Chongar checkpoint.

“There was also information that Ismail Karashayev, a Crimean Tatar, was detained and kept for a long time on the territory of the Chongar checkpoint.”

Crimean Solidarity noted, that after the detention Islyam Karashayev was released as well.

Earlier QHA reported that police cars of Russian security forced arrived to the residential massifs of the Crimean Tatars' compact settlement Mamak (now Strogonovka) and Bavurchi (now Kamenka) in Simferopol late at night.
