The police detained the killer who shot the former State Duma deputy Denis Voronenkov and his guard, according to the Deputy Head of the National Police, the Head of the Main Investigation Department, Aleksandr Vakulenko. He reported that representatives of the central police apparatus had been involved in the investigation at the crime scene. On-site working forensics provided assistance in quick clarifying all the circumstances of the crime.
"At the moment, given the identity of the victim, among the priority versions, we are considering the actions of the Russian Federation aimed at destroying the person who gave important testimony and played a key role in the processes that took place in Ukraine," Aleksandr Vakulenko said.
Police reported that during the attack, Russian ex-deputy Voronenkov was killed by a TT gun, and his guard was injured. The attacker obtained injuries as well. Now both wounded are under reliable guard in one of the medical institutions.
