Ex-Finance Minister Pavel Tokarev died in a car accident in the annexed Crimea.

Tokarev headed the Ministry of Finance of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea from 2006 to 2010, and the State Financial Inspection of the Crimea in 2012-2014.

Pavel Tokarev was born in Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region, graduated from Kyiv Institute of National Economy with a degree in Industrial Planning, and worked in financial and tax authorities for more than 30 years. In 2014, he supported the Russian annexation of the Crimea and until 2017 headed the "Financial Supervision Service" of the Crimea.

From November 2017 he was an Adviser to the Crimean "Speaker" Vladimir Konstantinov.

Tokarev was buried on October 19 in Yalta.
 
Earlier, on the highway Simferopol-Sevastopol in the annexed Crimea on October 3, a bus and five cars collided. As a result of the accident, four people were injured.

Previously, in September, a passenger car collided with a bus on the Krasnoperekopsk-Simferopol highway. The accident killed 5 people.
