Sevastopol (QHA) - Head of health department at Sevastopol city state administration Viktor Pologiy said that at present 286 people, including 84 children are still at the infectious diseases hospital due to poisoning, informs Telegraf.com.ua
“Such situations are occurring from year to year. One of the reasons is that by August population of the city doubles due to tourists, thus number of patients at hospitals increases. Hot weather leads to poor circulation of water in shallow waters, including at ‘Omega’ beach, as a result various microorganisms are rapidly growing”, said Pologiy.
At the same time he noted that the main source of infectious diseases are foods bought in unauthorized areas of retail, especially on the beaches.
Head of Sevastopol city state administration Vladimir Yatsuba had given instructions to prepare a report on the case.
“I want to find the pattern, if people got sick due to poor quality food, where this food was sold, if they got sick after bathing at a beach, we need to take appropriate measures”, said Yatsuba.
As reported earlier, after leisure at ‘Omega’ beach in Sevastopol, 386 people got into infectious diseases hospital with signs of poisoning.
