Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey has fined Federation of Crimean Tatar Derneks (association) of Turkey, which claims it represents the diaspora of Crimean Tatars in the country.
The federation, which cooperates with Crimean authorities and Crimean newly created NGO “Qirim Birligi” has made numerous statement declaring their support for Crimea’s unification with Russia.
Following the examination of the Federation of Crimean Tatar Derneks, numerous violations in documentation and the Federation’s activity were revealed.
A criminal case may be opened against the leaders of the federation and the Federation’s head Unver Sel, who is famous for his pro-Russian position and opposition to Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people.
Meanwhile, Crimean Tatar Association of Culture and Mutual Assistance of Turkey announced the decision of 42 Crimean Tatar organisations established in Turkey to unite under a platform in order to collectively act and develop policies against pressure on Crimean Tatars and to use every means available to preserve the Crimean Tatar language, civilization and culture forever.
