Drunk customs officer tried to run over participants of Crimea’s blockade

Drunken head of the customs post tried to run over the activists participating in the blockade.

October 14, 2015. The activists of Crimea’s blockade have detained Nikolai Stepnyak, head of the Kakhovka checkpoint of Kherson Customs, when he was driving a vehicle, ATR TV journalist Shevket Namatullaev posted on his Facebook page. 

According to his version, Nikolai Stepnyak has run over the activists and tried to escape from the scene. Traffic police launched the high-speed pursuit after him.

A snap test has recorded almost a 15-fold excess of the allowed amount of alcohol in his blood, but Nikolai Stepnyak instisted that he ‘drank just fruit compote.’
