August 15, at about 11 p.m., Russian militants in Donbas shelled the control post Mayorsk with mortars, according to the State Border Service of Ukraine.
“The gunmen opened fire again at the checkpoint "Mayorsk" on "Zaytsevo" checkpoint direction. They used mortars to hit the border guards and fired from the uncontrolled territory of Gorlovka,” the press-service agency informed.
Reportedly, the Russian mercenaries fired more than 10 minutes of 120 mm caliber.
“None of the border guards was injured,” the State Border Service reports.
The "DPR" militants began provocative shelling of checkpoint "Mayorsk" on August 13. Ukrainian border guards did not return fire.
"DPR" and "LPR" are the terrorist organizations, which have seized part of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine being supported by the Russian Armed Forces. Both organizations have been created and maintained by Russia, which supplies fighters and trainers, as well as heavy equipment, weapons, ammunition and fuel to the occupied territory of Ukraine.
