Militants of the "DNR" (Donetsk People’s Republic) in the occupied Donetsk opened fire on demonstrators rallied against the deployment of artillery positions in residential neighborhoods of the city, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) posted on its Facebook page.
“July 17, during the dispersal of a rally against the deployment of firing positions of artillery units in residential areas of the city, military of the 1st separate motorized rifle brigade (Komsomolsk) under the 1st army corps AK 1 (Donetsk) seriously injured three local civilians by firearms,” the DIU reports.
In order to conceal this fact the command has set a rumor that a retired serviceman used the weapon against the peaceful demonstrators, according to the DIU.
“To hide this fact, the Russian occupational command has actively set a rumor that a retired servicemen being in a state of mental disorder opened fire on the locals,” the DIU noted.
