Residents of the village of Vysokogornoye who threatened to go on a hunger strike over lack of electricity in their homes were provided with firewood for free, reported Andrey Rostenko, the so-called Head of Yalta’s administration.

“There has been a slight improvement in the situation after we provided the villagers with firewood and figured out the cause of the blackout. Tomorrow morning power will be back on,” said Rostenko.

According to him, the blackout occurred due to excessively high electricity consumption caused by unauthorized connection to the power line.

In his turn, Deputy Head of Yalta’s Administration Viktor Comissarov said that he had Gorsvet and Livadiya electricity providers re-connect the villagers connected to a single-phase network.
