Crimean Tatar Day celebrated in Crimea

AQMESCİT/SIMFEROPOL (QHA) - Day of the Crimean Tatar National Flag was celebrated in Aqmescit on June 26 for four years consecutively. The event was conducted in the urban Treniov Square.
The celebrations started by the motorcade with the Crimean Tatar flags by route: Aqmescit-Bağçasaray/Bakhchisarai-Aqyar/Sevastopol-Foros-Simeiz-Aluşta-Aqmescit.
Crimean Tatar craftsmen represented their works of the decorative and applied arts: pottery, metal handicrafts, embroidery, costume jewellery, puppets, etc.
Guests and city dwellers also could buy literature in Crimean Tatar.
Organizers held the contest on pavement drawing for children. Winners of the contest got toys as prizes.
Federation of Kureş national wrestling conducted the exhibition trials of wrestlers in order to familiarize guests and dwellers with the old Crimean Tatar wrestling.
The Gala Night dedicated to the national flag began at 6 p.m. Many Crimean Tatar stars as well as amateur groups and performers appeared before the audience this night: Server Kakura, Hasan Bilâl, Emine Mustafa, Meriyem Qadır, Asiye Sale, Afize Yusuf qızı, Zore Qadı, Aysel Baliç, Qırım, Uçan Su, Cemile groups,etc.
The Vice-Chairman of the Majlis of Crimean Tatar nation Remzi İlâs welcomed warmly all people with the Crimean Tatar National Flag on behalf of the Crimean Tatar higher representative body.
It would be recalled that the decision to celebrate the Crimean Tatar Flag Day on June 26 was approved by the Qurultay of Crimean Tatar nation in 2010.
