Crimean detachment to guard ports in occupied Crimea

The number of posts of Russia’s Departmental Security Service (DSS) at the Kerch ferry has also been increased.

March 1, 2016 the branches and guards of the so-called Crimean Detachment have started guarding the Kerch Fishing Port, the "Terminal" Port, Kerch, Feodosia, Yalta and Yevpatoria commercial ports, reported PortNews.

Branches and guards have been formed pursuant to the agreement as of January, 18 2016 between the SUE of the Republic of Crimea "Crimean ports" (GUK RK "CMP") and the Krasnodar branch of FSUE "DSS of Russian Transport Ministry.

Under this agreement the number of DSS posts at the Kerch ferry also was to be increased.

- We’ve carried out organizational work to ensure that this event takes place. Several hundred employees have been selected, equipped, trained and prepared to perform their duties. Jointly with the shooters they will ensure safety at the sea ports in the Republic of Crimea, commented Vyacheslav Buryi, Director of the Krasnodar branch.
