Contraband ‘money in flour’ seized in Kharkiv region (PHOTO)

Press center of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kharkiv region reports the detention of 48-year-old resident of Luhansk region, which tried to smuggle into Russia a large sum of money.

A woman, who tried to smuggle UAH 740 thousand and 298 bank cards opened to nominees, has been detained at Chugunovka checkpoint during customs inspection. It was found that she was transporting the money, hidden in packages of flour, through Russia to the territory controlled by militants. 

Now the SSU officers are carrying out operational activities aimed at establishing the origin of money. Having received indirect evidence, they also consider the version of possible use of the contraband channel for financing criminal activities of illegal armed groups.
