KERCH (QHA) -

The Director of State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea "Water of Crimea," Anzor Borlakov, told about the water shortage in reservoir, the "Argumenty Nedeli - Crimea" reports.

Thus, according to him, there are only 6.3 million cubic meters of water in the reservoir, for the time being.

Such stocks will cover the city needs for a maximum of twenty days, said the "First Deputy Minister of Housing and Utility Sector of the Republic of Crimea" Ruslan Sharov.

According Borlakov, the urban community needs 43-45 thousand cubic meters of water per week and up to 47 million over the weekend.

“We are not provided with official information about the pumping (water - Ed.),” he added.

The "Kerch City Administration" fears that the current situation could lead to catastrophic consequences.

“So, the turbid water from the reservoir will flow to the city. Therefore, we ask to speed up the reservoir loading, because in this respect, there is a problem,” said, "the adviser to the head of the Kerch City Administration" Mikhail Sevastyanov.

After the annexation of Crimea, Ukraine ceased to provide fresh water to the peninsular through the North Crimean Canal.
