The Anda cargo vessel, with nine crew members aboard, crashed in neutral waters near the Crimea, TASS Russian news agency reported. 

“The Anda dry-cargo ship, carrying 24,000 tons of wheat, overturned in the Black Sea (neutral waters), 40 kilometers south of the Alupka settlement. The crew of nine people, citizens of Syria and India, was on the board. Three people were saved, the fate of six remains unknown”, the interlocutor of the agency reported.

The Mi-8 helicopter of the Emergency Ministry of the Russian Federation in Simferopol has been prepared, and three sea-going vessels were involved to the search in the place of the incident, according to the interlocutor.

It is also known that the Anda dry-cargo ship was under the Togo flag.

As for 10:30, July 29, it is known that rescuers could yet help to the dry-cargo ship in distress near the Crimean coast due to sea swells.

“Unfavorable weather conditions do not allow the rescue vessel of Russian EMERCOM to operate, the wave height is 22 meters. For the same reason, it is impossible to use aviation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation”.
