ANKARA (QHA) -

A blast occurred in downtown Ankara at 6.45 p.m. local time.

Initial reports suggest a car laden with explosives detonated in the Guvenpark of Ankara’s Kyzylay district.

As of now, 27 people are reported killed and 75 injured. Several vehicles and buildings have been damaged in the blast. Police vehicles, ambulances and fire trucks keep arriving at the accident site.

The Turkish authorities qualified the accident as a terror attack and restricted its coverage in the media.
