Another monument to Lenin toppled in Ukraine

Yesterday, on January 6, the principal of one of the schools in Berdichev (Ukraine) informed the police that the monument to Lenin, located on school campus was toppled by unknown people. The police found that the statue was tumbled down with a rope. Law enforcers believe that a group of people was involved to topple 2-meters high concrete monument from its 1,75-meter high pedestal. As a result of the fall the statue was damaged. According to head of Berdichev city police department Yuriy Olefir, the accident was included into the unified register of pre-trial investigations. Preliminary legal qualification – part 1 of article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine- hooliganism. As reported, on December 8, 2013, monument to Lenin in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv was toppled by unidentified people.
