KYIV (QHA) -

Investigators of the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office detained the head of the Solomensky Department of the Kyiv State Migration Service at the time of receiving a bribe, according to the official website of the prosecutor's office.

It is alleged that the official demanded UAH 15 thousand from an Australian citizen for the issuance of a certificate of temporary residence in Ukraine. He was detained red-handed in his office during the preparation of the second part of the agreed amount. The official’s actions are qualified under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal receipt of benefits by officials who hold a position of responsibility, combined with extortion of undue advantage).
