A holiday matinee dedicated to the opening of the first Crimean Tatars group ‘Zhemchuzhinka’ was held at kindergarten No. 7 in Simferopol on November 6, 2015. The group embraced 25 children, including 3 ones from the Slavic families, whose parents expressed the desire to have their children attending the national group, press service of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars reports.
The opening ceremony was visited by representatives of the Department for Education in Simferopol city and the Crimean Republican Institute of Postgraduate Education.
The Mejlis of Crimean Tatars expressed gratitude to educator Emina Usein, head mistress Julia Konstantinova, parents of the children and especially to Lenura Engulatova, who jointly contributed to establishing the group with Crimean Tatar language of education and implemented the constitutional right to receive education in native language.
“We hope that the establishing such a group will be a step towards creation of a tolerant society where all nations are free to develop and study their culture and traditions,” says a statement of the press service.
