About 74% of children from 3 to 5 years old are enrolled in pre-school education institutions. This percentage does not satisfy the Education Ministry, the Ukraine’s Minister of Education and Science Hrynevych told the morning session of the Verkhovna Rada as cited by a QHA correspondent.
Another 90 000 places should be provided for pre-school children, said the Ministry of Education.
The Minister said that almost 11 000 places for preschoolers have been provided prior to the September 1 this year. It is also planned to provide up to 25 thousand places by the end of the year.
In Iate May 2016 the Ministry of Education adopted new sanitary regulation for pre-school education institutions. This will allow local governments to open educational institutions for teaching preschoolers under the simplified procedure. According to the Minister, the regulations introduced require less investment.
