Ukrainian agrarian companies have ample opportunities to participate in tenders of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), said Dorte Ellehammer, WFP's representative, during the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Elena Kovaleva.
“Holding a certain share of the world food market, Ukrainian producers have not fully realized their potential. It is important to increase the level of Ukrainian producers’ acquaintance with terms of participation in humanitarian programs,” Kovaleva said.
Moreover, the Deputy Minister informed that the first stage of cooperation is the invitation of the representatives of the Ministry to the December meeting of the grain market working group with the participation of a WFP representative.
The possible steps for participation of Ukrainian producers, in particular dealing with baby food, within the World Food Programme procurement, have also been discussed at the meeting.
