The Ukraine’s Index of Economic Freedom is only 46.8 scours out of possible 100.
Our country is ranked 162nd out of 178 countries in the annual Index of Economic Freedom, compiled by Heritage Foundation, the American research organization.
For comparison, last year, Ukraine was on the 155th place, the year before last – on the 161st. Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Switzerland and Australia are the leaders of the ranking this year.
The United States is on the 11th position. The lowest level of economic freedom was recorded in Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea. The Russian Federation dropped by 10 positions and took the 153rd place.
The World Heritage Foundation produces the Index of Economic Freedom in partnership with The Wall Street Journal. Such an analysis has been carried out since 1995.
The Index of Economic Freedom is measured in 178 countries by ten indicators: property rights, freedom from corruption, fiscal freedom, government spending, business freedom, labor freedom, monetary freedom, trade freedom, investment freedom and financial freedom.
