KYIV (QHA) - Ukrainian steelmakers in July 2013 compared to the same month last year reduced steel production by 8.8 percent to 2,828 million tons, thus taking ninth spot in the list of steel makers, according to the 2013 edition of World Steel in Figures by the World Steel Association (WSA), says Radio Liberty, Ukrinform reports.
"In the first seven months, Ukraine has taken in this ranking tenth position. Compared to the same period in 2012 steel production in the country decreased by 1.1 percent," the report reads.
To be noted, the list of world's largest steel makers is held by China (an increase of 6.2 percent compared to July 2012).
China is followed by Japan, the U.S., India, Russia, South Korea, Germany, Brazil and Turkey.
