KYIV (QHA) -

Ukraine has stopped buying Russian gas, a department of the Russian gas monopoly "Gazprom" told the UNIAN citing the Company Head o Alexey Miller.

-"Naftogaz Ukraine" has neither submitted an application nor prepaid new gas supply. Thus, the supply is halted until Ukrainian company makes payment, said Miller.

He suggests that Ukraine’s rejection to purchase Russian gas can pose a serious risk for a reliable gas transit to Europe and Ukrainian consumers this winter. Earlier, the Head of "Naftogaz Ukraine" Andrey Kobolev said Russia would cease gas supplies to Ukraine during a heating season.

According to Ukraine’s Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchishin, it's planned to coordinate opportunities, supply conditions and Russian gas cost for the first quarter, 2016 until Dec 20 this year.
