The provisions of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in terms of creating a free trade zone on January 1 came into effect.
The Agreement provides mutual (commercial, political, environmental) rights and obligations of Ukraine and the European Union in the context of a free trade zone. The introduction of the FTA provides for the abolition of import duties on the majority of European Union goods and a significant simplification of customs procedures.
The introduction of a free trade area will provide an access to cheap European products; expand the range of products, increase the quality of domestic goods due to competition and stringent quality EU standards; the cars will fall in price; the protection of consumer rights will be enhanced; working conditions will be improved; "second-hands" will disappear. In addition, the FTA provides for a ban on the purchase of products without quality control.
