Russia Completely Cuts off Gas Supplies to Ukraine. There is only a transit volume of gas that goes to European countries.
The Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yurii Prodan announced at the government meeting June 16.
"We have the information that the gas supplies to Ukraine was reduced to a zero level today," he said.
There is only a transit volume of gas that goes to European countries left, Prodan said.
To remind, Gazprom switched Ukraine to advance payment for gas from 9:00 a. m. on June 16, and filed a suit at the Stockholm arbitration, demanding the return of USD 4.5 billion. Naftogaz also has filed a suit at the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, demanding changes in price and refund of USD 6 billion overpayment.
During the long gas talks, Russia refused to make any concessions, even offered by Europe.
