"Deputy of the illegitimate Russian State Duma from Crimea" Mikhail Sheremet, in an interview with the Russian media, said that the program to increase energy tariffs in the Russian-occupied peninsula for 2017 has already been developed. According to him, the residents of the peninsula have to pay the occupants for electricity double.
"In Russia, the price of electricity is at least twice as much. We are now getting subsidies, but the tariffs will be quarterly increased here during 2017 to bring them to the Russian level," he said.
Notably, the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Andrey Cherezov was outraged by the low prices for electricity in the occupied Crimea. Later, the self-proclaimed "authorities" in Crimea submitted to the Russian agency the plan to increase the energy prices.
