The settlements of eastern Crimea will have been provided with a stable water supply by 2020, Alexander Zhdanon, the so-called "Minister of Housing and Communal Services" of Crimea stated at a meeting.
“The new water supply canal will use the groundwater stock, and be able to supply 200 thousand cubic meters per day. It will allow us to ensure the water supply to Kerch peninsula, Feodosia and Sudak,” Zhdanov said.
He also noted that after the termination of water supply from Ukraine, the water consumption on the peninsula has been reduced by four times. Now the minimum required rate is achieved due to precipitation.
However, no details of a new water supply canal construction and the amount of funding have been reported.
