Naftogaz discovers first own oil field

KYIV (QHA) - National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy has said that the holding has successfully drilled Runovshynska oil well No. 110 on the Budyschanske-Chutivske field.
"An oil field, one of the largest in Ukraine over the past 15 years, has been discovered. According to the tentative appraisal, the minimum oil deposits at the field amount to some 12.8 million tonnes," reads a report of Naftogaz issued on Wednesday, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
The company said that during the test of the Upper Carbonic layers in Runovshynska well No. 110, a well yield of 106.8 cubic meters a day was registered.
Naftogaz reminded that in late 2011, the holding received a special permit to explore the Budyschanske-Chutivske field, in 2012 the holding conducted the exploration work, and in the first quarter of 2012 the holding started drilling.
The company said that it is applying large efforts to increase own oil and gas extraction.
"We're continuing drilling wells at the Budyschanske-Chutivske field, where a new gas deposit was discovered at Runovshynska well No. 100 and at Runovshynska well No. 101," reads the report, citing Naftogaz Ukrainy Deputy Board Chairman Oleksandr Katsuba.
As reported, Naftogaz Ukrainy's companies increased gas extraction by 0.5% in 2012 or by 93.8 million cubic meters, to 18.207 billion cubic meters.
