KYIV (QHA) -

On the eve of the New Year, Ukrainians will be able to buy the sparkling wines of ‘Novy Svet’ brand, revived in mainland Ukraine. 'Massandra’ brand will also be saved for Ukraine.

Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, continues to implement measures to protect the national interests of the enterprises remaining in the temporarily occupied Crimea, according to Oleksiy Pavlenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Liev, Adviser to the Minister, said that the project on revival of ‘Novy Svet’ brand in Ukraine may be considered as realized. According to him, the return of ‘Massandra’ brand will be the next stage.

“Our goal is to keep other state brands. After all, if a trademark is not used for three years, a legal right to use it may be lost. The 'Massandra’ brand has not been used by Ukraine for two years. Therefore, our primary goal is to enable the Ukrainian enterprises to produce legal Massandra wines under the relevant trade mark,” said Oleksandr Liev.

He stressed the importance of preserving the traditional markets of Crimean wines for Ukraine. According to Oleksandr Liev, it is important to enable countries which known ‘Massandra’ brand for many years to consume high-quality Ukrainian wines in future.

He noted that the relocation of the wine production to mainland Ukraine is a temporary phenomenon that will only last until the return of Crimea.
