Iran’s dairy - solution to Russia’s lockdown

Rosselkhoznadzor approved the replacement of Ukrainian cheeses in Russian stores.

Alex Alekseenko, Assistant to the Rosselkhoznadzor Manager, reported signing of the agreement on supply of Iranian dairy products to Russia.

According to the Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) spokesman, in such a way the Russian government is trying to compensate for the rejection of the sanctioned European dairy.

However, even having an import plan, which should eliminate the shortfall via Latin America, Russia cannot replace the EU agricultural products on a full scale. Therefore, the "northern neighbor" has lifted a food embargo on the supply of cheese and meat products from 8 Swiss companies.
