SEVASTOPOL / AK-YAR (QHA) -

The occupation authorities of Sevastopol sent the first batch of grain to Syria, which came to the Syrian port on July 4, the press service of the Kremlin-controlled Sevastopol seaport reported.

“The first batch of grain arrived in the port of Syria. At the moment, laboratory specialists take samples of grain in order to confirm its quality. After carrying out the necessary analysis and expert opinions, a command will be given to unload the grain from the vessel and prepare it for weighing," reads the report.

QHA reported that the occupation authorities increased grain exports from the annexed Crimea to Syria under alleged agreements to sell excess of agricultural crops. Since mid-2017, the invaders sent to Syria about 10 vessels with 170 thousand tons of grain.

In turn, the Crimea can receive in exchange for wheat products from Syria, such as olive oil.
