Growth in GDP of Ukraine in the third quarter of this year, according to operative data, comprises 1.8% compared to the same period of 2015, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine informs.

GDP growth compared to the previous quarter of this year is 0.4% (seasonally adjusted).

Today, the Federal Statistics Service of Russia has also issued statistics on the gross domestic product of Russia. According to Rosstat, the Russian GDP declined by 0.4% in the third quarter compared to the same period last year.

Economic sanctions are imposed against Russia for the occupation of Crimea and armed aggression in Donbas. Due to these restricting measures, the RF economy experiences a significant negative impact.

The government’s GDP growth forecast in Ukraine in 2016 comprises 2% (incorporated in the state budget). Though in the summer, the Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman suggested that GDP growth for the current year might slow to 1.5%.
