Germany earmarked EUR 6 M humanitarian aid for Ukraine

The purpose of the humanitarian project - to provide food for people affected by a conflict in Donbas.

The funds allocated for 2016-2017 are designed to support a humanitarian program "Emergency assistance to civilians affected by the conflict in Eastern Ukraine," according to the website of the German Embassy in Kiev.

The project is implemented within the framework of WFP World Food Programme (UN). The goal of the humanitarian project launched in 2014 is to ensure basic food supplies for people affected by the conflict in Donbas.

Earlier, Germany has allocated Ukraine EUR 4.5 million due to which more than 650 thousand people have received assistance from WFP.
