(QHA) - OPEN DAYS 2013 -The 11th European Week of Regions and Cities gets underway in Brussels, reports Ukrinform. Among nearly 6,000 representatives of local authorities the event will be attended by the heads of five regions of Ukraine, the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union told. As reported, Ukraine is represented at the forum by Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk regions at the level of heads of regional state administrations and regional councils. Overall, the event, which this year takes place under the slogan "Europe of regions and cities: make the world better," brought together about 6,000 participants, including representatives of local authorities and local governments, academia, business community. Note: The OPEN DAYS - European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance. The event was launched in 2003.
